Carbon Dioxide (CO2)
A colorless, odorless non-combustible gas found as a normal constituent of the atmosphere. It is a gas consisting of one atom of carbon and two of oxygen. It is produced by combustion of carbon-based fuels and from respiration (exhaled breath). High levels in a structure can be an indicator of inadequate ventilation. Health effects are unusual unless exceedingly high levels are encountered.
