Capacitors are like batteries that aid the motors in running. The lower the value of the capacitor, the more amps (electricity) the motor is going to draw. The more amps the motor draaws, the harder the motor works and the more heat it produces. A bad capacitor can harm the motor that it serves whether it is a fan motor or a compressor. That means this minor little component can cost you a lot if not dealt with in time. We alwayscheck the capacitor to make sure it is in proper range which is usually 5% of its rated value. If it is out of range we will definitely recommend that it be replaced.
