Emergency Drain Pan

drainpan.jpg

Drain Pans have become a standard and a requirement for new building codes to protect homeowners from unwanted condensate damage. When the drain line backs up or the unit freezes up, the emergency pan usually catches the excess water. The pan then routes the water away with a secondary drainline that is connected to the pan or there may be an emergency shut off device called a float switch. We are surprised to see many installations where there is no drain pan installed. This is just asking for trouble. Sometimes there is a drain pan installed with the secondary drain, but no additional float switch installed. What if the secondary drain also backs up. You need that extra level of protection with a float swich. Contact us and we will measure your unit for a drain pan.
